Different Production Processes of High-quality Magnesia Bricks

Magnesite bricks are mainly made from natural magnesite materials, with a magnesium oxide content of over 89%. The melting point of magnesite is as high as 2800ºC, making bricks highly refractory. Depending on the production process and properties, magnesia bricks are divided into burned magnesia bricks and chemically bonded magnesia bricks.

    Burned Magnesite Refractory Bricks

Burned magnesia bricks are produced by high-temperature firing of raw materials. These high temperature refractory bricks have high refractoriness, strong resistance to high temperatures, and good alkali resistance, making them suitable for high-temperature alkaline working environments. Common types of burned magnesia bricks include magnesia refractory bricks, magnesia-alumina bricks, magnesia-chrome bricks, magnesia-iron spinel bricks, magnesia-calcium bricks, and others.

    Chemically Bonded Magnesium Bricks

Chemically bonded magnesia bricks, also known as unburned magnesia bricks, are formed by mixing raw materials at room temperature. They exhibit good alkali resistance, seismic resistance, and abrasion resistance, making them more suitable for applications with high mechanical performance requirements. Common types of chemically bonded magnesia bricks include alumina magnesia carbon bricks, magnesia carbon bricks, magnesia calcium carbon bricks, and others.

    Magnesia Bricks Properties

    High Density

Magnesia bricks have a high mineral content. They are dense and exhibit good resistance to penetration and leakage. They effectively prolong the lifespan of materials.

    Strong Resistance to Spalling

Magnesia bricks have a strong resistance to alkaline slag erosion, such as iron oxide and calcium. They contain a high proportion of magnesium oxide, which helps maintain stability in alkaline environments.

    High Heat Resistance

They have a high load softening temperature, with high-purity magnesia bricks reaching temperatures of up to 1800 degrees Celsius. Magnesia bricks maintain structural stability in high-temperature environments, resisting deformation or cracking.

    High Thermal Conductivity

Magnesium oxide bricks efficiently transfer heat, improving temperature uniformity in furnaces. This accelerates heat treatment processes and reduces energy consumption.

    Moderate Expansion

Magnesia bricks typically exhibit a linear expansion rate of 1.0-2.0% between 1000-1600 degrees Celsius. Moderate expansion at high temperatures helps maintain structural stability.

    Strong Abrasion Resistance

Magnesium oxide has high hardness, making magnesia bricks resistant to wear in high-temperature environments. They are suitable for use in high-temperature environments requiring strong abrasion resistance.
